High School Students visit Auschwitz Exhibit

Not Long Ago, Not Far Away is the tagline for the Auschwitz Exhibit at The Castle, Park Plaza, Boston. Summit Academy High School students were there not long ago in May and not too far away in Boston. They visited the Exhibit which tied into their ELA and History studies of the Holocaust, a horrific tragedy in the history of mankind. They studied articles and poems, read the memoir, "My Survival: A Girl on Schindler's List, and watched the Anne Frank movie: "A Tale of Two Sisters." At the Exhibit, they were able to draw connections to their studies. The biggest lesson they learned, according to their ELA teacher, Rachele Lonergan, was how hate can start small and become bigger as more join a movement. She hopes they all learn to stand up for the greater good instead. The trip was made possible through a grant from the Doug Flutie Jr Foundation for Autism. Thank you!
